Keyboard Tab - Choosing Notes There are many ways in which you can select notes for your Skoog:
  • you can use a standard preset pentatonic
  • you can manually select your notes for each side
  • you can load in a set of notes that you have previously saved
  • you can choose from one of the song files in the examples folder, or that you have downloaded from our website

NOTE: Middle C on a piano is called C4, this is the note in the middle of a standard piano keyboard.

  2. Load and Save note files (saved set of notes that you have previsouly chosen)

  7. To use the preset pentatonic scale function, just click on:
    Scale Menu
    The Scale Menu allows you to choose a major or minor scale, or switch to 'User Defined' (which allows you to manually pick your notes for each side).

    The Tonic and octave menus allow you to select the key you want (c, d, e, etc) and the pitch range (3rd, 4th, 5th octave etc).

    NB. An octave is the full set of notes (12 in total) that you find on the piano keyboard. Every octave has the same set of notes, but the higher the octave the higher these notes will sound.

  8. Tuning and transposing controls
  9. You can tune your Skoog using the tuning slider; simply click and drag. Use the reset button to return to concert pitch.

Selecting Your Own Notes
To select your own notes simply:

  1. Select 'User Defined' from the Scale Menu (iv.).


  2. Click on one of the Visual Indicators (ii.).

  3. Choose a note on the keyboard for the selected indicator(iii.).
