Using user defined notes to play along with a backing track

With the loop player you can play along with any loop or popular tune. You can compose your own melody to accompany the track.

There are two examples provided as demonstrations in the examples folder. They can be found in:

Apple Mac: /Library/Application Support/Skoogmusic/Examples

Windows PC: /Program Files(x86)/Skoogmusic/Examples/

(1) Gymnopedie (by Eric Satie):

  • Click the Instrument tab choose - Vibraphone
  • Now click the keyboard tab and click the 'open' button at the top of the tab. (User defined note load and save.)
  • Select gymnopedie from the examples folder. (This piece is in D major, so you can also experiement with the D major pentatonic).
  • Now locate the Gynopedie_Dmaj.wav from the Skooguserfiles. Drag the .wav file to the loop player and click play.

The piece will start looping, there are 4 bars of intro and then the piano will play the main theme. The notes loaded on the Skoog are the notes of the main theme.

Listen to the phrasing of the piano and play along:
Blue
orange  yellow  blue  red  green  orange orange
(the orange note is an octave higher than the actual piano tune, but it is the right note.)
