Recording your performance

The software can record the music you are making, even if you have no microphone!  The software does it all internally and so no extra cables or hardware are required!

Before you can record you need to give your recording a name and select a location on your computer for  the recording.  The length of time you can record for is determined by how much free disk space you have.  The software records a .wav file directly to the hard drive of your computer (or to the location you specify, i.e. a memory stick or external drive).

It records the sound output from the program, so if you are playing more than one skoog, or plaing over a backing track it will record the combined sound, or what you hear.

  • So click on Record. A dialogue box will open prompting you to set a filename and save location for your file.
  • The Record button will then change to a flashing Start button. Click Start to start recording.
  • To end the recording click Stop. The file will automatically save with the name and location you specified.

To review your recording you can drag the .wav file into the loop player and cick play Or Open the .wav file in your usual media player, iTunes, Windows Media Player etc..

You can use your own recording (.wav file) as a backing track! and play over the top, if you then press record add to your performance recording a new part alongside your previous.  This will produce a new .wav file with your combined performance.
