Playing a user defined set of notes

As well as using the pentatonic notes selections, the software allows you to create your own note patterns and save them as user defined note files. The following gives instructions on how to load and play a set of notes.

  • Select your instrument by clicking on the appropriate image in the instrument tab, for this example select the flute
  • Now click the keyboard tab and click the 'open' button at the top of the tab. (User defined note load and save.)
  • Select oldmacdonald from the Skooguser files folder. (Skoogmusic/use/notes)
  • Now play yellow yellow yellow  red  orange orange  red  (pause)  green green  blue blue  yellow 

Now try working out how to play Jingle Bells.

  • Click the keyboard tab, then click the 'open' button at the top of the tab. (User defined not load and save.)
  • Select jinglebells from the Skooguser files folder. (Skoogmusic/use/notes)

All the notes are there, try and work out what order to play them in to create the tune. Experiment with different instruments and transpositions.
